INDUSTRIES:

This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to operate a light vehicle in the Resources and Infrastructure Industries.  This unit is widely used in the Mining, Gas and Construction sector.  A light vehicle is a vehicle defined as being under 4.5t.  This is designed as a defensive driving course for industry.

COURSE AIM:

The purpose of this course is to impart the skills and knowledge required to operate a motor vehicle safely.   

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

At the completion of the course the learner will be able to:

  • Plan and prepare for light vehicle operations
  • Operate light vehicle
  • Carry out operator maintenance

COURSE INFORMATION:

This course is generally for persons who operate a light vehicle in the course of their employment.  Its is not a four wheel drive course.

Pre-requisites: A current drivers licence for the relevant class of vehicle.

Duration:  1 day course

Start Time:  7.30am

Finish Time:  It is envisaged the course will conclude at 4.30 pm  This course is competency based so finish time may vary depending on number of participants and their ability to reach competency.

Location:  Motor School, 137 Sandgate Road Albion QLD 4010 or a suitable training location as nominated by Motor School.

Dress Code:  We recommend students wear comfortable clothing in accordance with their particular work requirement. (long trousers, long sleeved shirt and clean enclosed shoes with a good tread)

What you need to bring:

  • Current drivers licence
  • USI (Unique Student Identifier - www.usi.gov.au)
  • Clean enclosed shoes with a good tread
  • Eye protection 
  • Gloves for manual handling

INCLUSIONS:  

Brisbane office course has morning tea supplied and can include the use of our late model vehicles.  Participants are encouraged to use their own vehicle.

This unit of competency is assessed through the completion of written theory assessment/s and practical assessment/s

STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT:  

A Statement of Attainment for RIIVEH201D - Operate light vehicle will be issued upon successful completion of all assessments.
