TLIC3010 - Pilot or escort oversized and/or over massed loads
INDUSTRIES
This unit of competency relates to the transport Industry, and specifically to the pilot and escort activities in the movement of oversized and /or overmassed loads.
COURSE AIM
The purpose of this course is to impart the skills and knowledge required to undertake pilot or escort activities in the movement of oversized and/or overmassed loads.
It addresses the requirements of carrying out the work in accordance with National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) regulations for piloting and escorting oversized and overmassed loads and relevant state/territory roads and traffic authority licence/permit requirements. It includes the preparation for pilot/escort operations, carrying out communications regarding the operations and fulfilling all functions related to piloting escorting vehicles carrying oversized and overmassed loads.

COURSE INFORMATION
This course is required by the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) for QLD licensing requirement.

Level 1: To be eligible to request the QLD. Pilot authorisation you will need to present a Statement of Attainment for TLIC3010- Pilot or escort oversized and/or overmassed loads (Level 1) to the Department of Transport and Main Roads and follow their application for pilot authorisation process.
Pre-requisites: A current drivers licence for the relevant class of vehicle.
Duration: 1 day course
Start Time: 8.30AM
Finish Time: It is envisaged the course will conclude at 3.30 pm. This course is competency based so finish time may vary depending on number of participants and their ability to reach competency.
Location: Motor School, 137 Sandgate Road Albion QLD 4010.
Dress Code: We recommend students to wear clothing and PPE in accordance with their particular job requirement. (trousers, long sleeve shirt, clean enclosed shoes with a good tread). As the practical assessment will be conducted outside, we suggest you also bring a water bottle, eye protection and a hat.

Brisbane office course, Motor School provides suitable vehicles for the training. You must advise Motor School in writing if you are an automatic only driver prior to commencing training.
Light morning tea (tea, water, coffee and biscuits) will be provided.
ASSESSMENT
This unit of competency is assessed through the completion of written theory assessment/s and practical assessment/s
STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT
A Statement of Attainment for TLIC3010- Pilot or escort oversized and/or overmassed loads (Level 1) will be issued upon successful completion of all assessments.
