The RIIVEH305F Operate and maintain a four wheel drive vehicle course is Motor School’s most popular practical driver training program, held in Brisbane most Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the year. This nationally recognised course builds the safe, on-road and off-road skills professionals need to operate and maintain a 4WD vehicle in resources, infrastructure, construction, and government roles.

Course Aim
This course gives you the essential skills to operate four-wheel drive vehicles safely across a range of terrains. As a result, you will be able to conduct daily vehicle checks, load your vehicle correctly, and engage 4WD modes with confidence.

As a result of completing this course, you will be able to:
- Identify four-wheel drive specific terms, terminology, and techniques
- Plan for minimal environmental impact
- Perform pre-departure checks
- Use four-wheel drive mode
- Coordinate and recover a vehicle
- Perform maintenance and minor repairs on four-wheel drive vehicles
Course Information
Furthermore, this course is generally suited to persons operating four wheel drive vehicles in the government, construction, mining, gas, or resources sector. Generally, the work will involve working in remote or desolate areas. They will generally be working within company guidelines, policies, and procedures.
PLEASE NOTE: This course covers Generic Industry practice. Companies may have their own variation of the generic requirements.
- Pre-requisites: A current drivers licence for the relevant class of vehicle.
- Duration: 1 day course
- Start Time: 7.30AM
- Finish Time: We expect the course to conclude at 4:30 pm, though it may extend depending on participant numbers and their pace in demonstrating competency.
- Location: Motor School, 137 Sandgate Road Albion QLD 4010 or a suitable training location as nominated by Motor School
- Dress Code: We recommend students wear clothing and PPE in accordance with their particular job requirement (long trousers, long-sleeved shirt, and wide-brimmed hat).

- Clean enclosed shoes with a good tread
- Sunscreen
- Eye protection
RIIVEH305F 4WD Training Costs and Inclusions
Our nationally accredited RIIVEH305F Operate and Maintain a Four Wheel Drive Vehicle course in Brisbane costs $625 per person. This price includes use of one of our training 4WD vehicles, all course materials, and lunch on the day.
If you bring your own 4WD vehicle to the training, the course costs $525 per person, which includes all course materials and lunch on the day.
